The Lyrics of Terry Hubbard

Brighter Day

written 1989 © 1989 - 2006 by T. Hubbard

Standing aside (outside)

watching the fire burn (higher and higher)

Nowhere to run (nowhere)

nowhere to turn.

There's been lot's of time (but it seems like)

not enough to learn

Looking ahead at the smoking sky,

not enough to live, just enough to die.

Looking behind, places that we have been,

where did we lose, and what did we win?

]

Not so far away I can hear still hear the angels sing,

with the hope that they give that tomorrow may bring.

Bring us a brighter day, a brighter day.

Bring us a brighter day,

Brighter day. Brighter.

And then the flames went down (went down)

like every thing was alright (alright)

Doin' the 'twist and shout'

must not've learned to do it right.

But that light still shines on this edge of the night.

They've proven their case with the point of a gun,

to silence the word, and blot out the sun,

but everyone knows just how to play that game;

Never goin' nowhere, always stayin' the same.

I can still 'em singin'

it's so good to know that they're still in the show.

so we all can go

Go to a brighter day. Brighter day.

Go to a brighter day. Go to a brighter day. .

Brighter day. Brighter.

If you notice a change in the earth and sky,

don't you stop to ask, don't you wonder why.

'Cause dawn is breakin' on this long dark shore

with the light of flames you haven't seen before.

If you hear 'em singin' lift your voice up high,

right up past the sky, so we all can fly.

Fly to a brighter day, Brighter day.

Fly to a brighter day, Brighter day.

Go to a brighter day. Brighter day.

I know we can go to a brighter day.

I know we can..

  play again
