I Don't Care (What Time It Is) |
|

I don’t care what time it is, ‘cause I don’t wear a watch anyway. And I don’t care what day it is ‘cause I forgot at least a thousand yesterdays. But don’t you give me no trouble And just listen to the song, And if you listen hard, And you listen right, You know you can’t go wrong. But if you count the minutes that are tickin’ on your hand, then you better get up and give your chair to another man, ‘Cause I’m tired of singin’ when the bells are ringin’ tired of cryin when there’s people dyin’ tired of seein’ no one bein’ what they really are. You know I’ve got a lot to say But I ain’t got much time, And if the words don’t seem to jive It’s ‘cause I got to rhyme. Now I don’t care if it’s day or night, The moon, sun and stars are all the same,
And I don’t care if I’m wrong or right, ‘cause I don’t pretend to know nobody’s game. But to find the fountain on the mountain, You’ve got to go up high, You just can’t sit back and smoke yer dope And think that you’ll get by. The time is comin’ the drummer’s drummin’ Right up to your door, And you can’t open it up with an empty cup ‘cause you don’t know whats in store. Now I don’t care how far it is, ‘cause I got a map to guide my way,
and I don’t care what kind it is, ‘cause I don’t see no evil in the way. Now there’s no use frettin’ If yer dog needs pettin, I guess that you can leave. And I ain’t sayin’ the time for prayin’ Is really here, But there’s my guitar, and there you are, Drownin’ in your fear.
