The Lyrics of Terry Hubbard

Radial Soul

written 1993 - © 193 -2006 by T. Hubbard

I saw a mountain cloaked in the twilight,

I felt the thunder deep in my soul, oh.

I heard the music of life’s changing seasons,

I caught the rhythm somewhere in my bones, ah.

But then the money came, put an end to everything,

It happened so long ago.

Bet you can’t remember when what’s been done

would have been a sin.

Was there a reason you should know?

I saw the last warrior defiant in freedom,

I felt him fly on the wings of the cry of an eagle

on his lips when he died.

I heard a nation rose up from bondage.

I thought of liberty, justice, and right, ah.

But that ain’t where it’s at,

A war for this, and a war for that,

With a god that’s Roman to the core.

It seems we ought to know by now,

so many tried to show us how.

So many victims of the rich man’s war.

I saw the children, and the pain of their hunger,

I felt the sun burnin’ hot through the hole. Oh.

I heard the screams of the earth in her torment.

I know the clock ain’t got far to go, ah.

So I went to the mountain to find something sacred,

I called the lightning just to show me a sign, oh.

I played the music, and sang through my sorrow.

I found the Spirit waiting patient for rest.

And a face on the love that was mine.
