The Lyrics of Terry Hubbard

Song To The Badguys

written 1985 © 2001 - 2010 by T. Hubbard

No one’s song was ever good enough,

To set you straight towards the light of day,

No ones voice spoke enough of Love,

To let you see it was the only way.

No one’s blood could wash your fear,

Though you come seeking it with cup in hand.

No one’s prayer ever made you clear

To see the truth living in every land.

But you can dance the night away, your way,

Make believe that the music makes you smile for awhile,

And pretend that freedom is a word that you heard.

Well you talk about your evil laws,

Like they were handed down to you from God,

You’re so mighty when you push the weak,

Don’t you think that’s just a little odd?

Still you persecute the holy child,

Like a shroud to his early grave,

And having nothing you’d like to claim it all,

Telling me, you’re whom God prefers to save.

Well you can dance the night away, your way,

Make believe that the music makes you smile for a while,

And pretend you’re forgiven for the price we pay?

No Way!

No one’s story was a tellin’ tale,

Though it’s written in the very stone,

No one’s love could melt your empty heart,

Though your end will be al your own.

And you can dance the night away, your way,

Make believe that the music makes you smile for awhile,

And pretend that freedom is a word that you heard.

Yes you can dance the night away, your way,

Make believe that the music makes you smile for awhile,

And pretend you’re forgiven for the price we pay?

      No Way!
