Fools Paradise

written 1992   ©  1992 -2010  by Terry Hubbard

Welcome to fools paradise,

where they sell the Truth in a pack of lies,

and you can’t run away, and there’s no place to stay,

somehow you must live ‘'til you die.

Well you can have anything at all,

if the price is right, and you take the fall.

You can satisfy your every need

if you don’t mind  makin’ little children bleed.

It’s a fools’ paradise with death in the skies,

and fools have no eyes to see.

Do you see the ones in the fancy dress?

Playin’ the illusion of happiness.

They don’t know, they won’t see,

the actual state of reality.

It’s a fools’ paradise, where fools will despise

all children's cries to be free.

Do you hear the sound of the marchin’ drums,

playin’ to the rhythm of loaded guns.

The storm is near, the winds are high,

the Earth is shakin’ and you don’t know why.

It’s a fools’ paradise where the deeds of the wise

are such a surprise to see.

Tomorrow is a brand new day,

no fools left from yesterday.

Today we live on given time,

sortin’ out the confusion in the rhythm and rhyme.

It’s a fools’ paradise, where a fools own disguise,

reflects only the lies that he sees.
