The Lyrics of Terry Hubbard |
|
In The Garden |
|
written in 1992 © 1992 - 2010 by T. Hubbard Once upon a time in the garden, breathin’ in the days, not
needin’ any pardon.
Like a river runnin’ free, we
had no reason not to think it would always be.
There’s
truth on a mountain, don’t
go if you don’t want to know. There’s
a light that’s inside you, don’t
look and it won’t show. And
it all comes from a feelin’ of love.
Like the summer skies, we were so clear then, with
wonder in our eyes, Like
a mornin’ meant to rise, there
was no way to know what was revealed before our eyes.
There’s
wisdom in the desert, don’t
seek and you won’t find out. You
got the keys to your own front door, open up and step right out, so
we can know the reason of love.
As the day turned night, then the fear came smilin’ with delight, As
we watched the colors fade, all we knew was it would never be the same. Fear
is what’s to blame, it’s
an intoxicating game. It
can bring you riches, and power, and fame.
There’s
a song in a heartbeat, don’t listen and you won’t hear. You
can believe what you want to, so you have the freedom to live in fear, we
can know the meanin’ of love.
There’s
no wisdom in ignorance, only a fool would believe a lie. Only
the truth will save you. Now will you live or will you die? All
for the sake of love, for the only reason of love, so
we can know the meanin’ of love, that
came from a feelin’ of love.
