The words and music of Terry Hubbard

One More Time

written 1979 © 1979 -2010 by Terry Hubbard

One more time I will try to sing a song to you.

But it's hard to sing it

when no one is listening,

like it's hard to love what isn't true.

Well all around me,

the world is cryin,'

screaming loudly in my ear.

But you're still sayin'

there's time for playin'

all those tiny games to hide your fear.

And I'm so tired of prayin'

when everyone is sayin'

"Oh it doesn't matter anyway."

Oh, and it makes me wonder,

if the world should fly asunder,

who will not be standing in the way?

I know, that's the dawn of day.

And you ain't got nothin' to say.

'Cause everything in your heart,

even from the start,

makes it happen anyway.

Well the time is comin'

drummer's drummin'

but you still claim that you can't hear.

But the light that's showin'

will soon be glowin',

setting fire to all the fear.

So if your life is brittle being,

the rising winds will make you break.

And if you're blind to al that you are seeing,

you won't survive on what you take.

But if you can heed the warning,

look until you can see the dawning,

make the choice, and take it all the way.

Then when you can take my hand,

all we are can understand

that what this is can guide us on our way.

Tomorrow began at dawn today,

and you, you know

love's the only way.

And everything in your heart

you knew it from the start makes it happen anyway
