When you were young and easy, they took all your rights so freely, They promised you their tomorrows that are rotting away. They sung you a song of glory, but you didn’t hear the warnin’ They told you a moral story, And you gave ‘em your mornin’ now they’re stealin’ your day. Now there’s a sound that’s comin’ up, Up from the ashes, it’s risin’ up There’s just one thing that’s keepin’ us down. It’s all of those dyin’ embryo’s, Throwin’ their nuclear throws, That’s keeping us all stuck to the ground. Did you think that time would set you free? Did you see the crime? Did you see? Well alright, Do you remember all the hours playin’ with love and flowers, And you could feel the powers growin’ in your hair? Then they told you it all was over, and lied with a smile. They sold you a plastic lover, Who taught you her guile, and polluted your air. Now there’s a Spirit comin’ up, Within us all it’s risin’ up! Just like a dawn that was never in sight. With the beat of our hearts we can fill it up, Don’t hesitate just drink the cup. Wake up the dead and turn on the light. Did you think your soul was safe in space? Or that ten thousand years of mystery could take your place? Well alright. Well alright. Well alright But you got to dance and sing the song, And do it right, don’t do it wrong. Don’t let the dream get blown away. There’s still a chance and it’s comin’ on, Just like a birth , and it’s getting’ strong. Don’t let illusions get in the way. It’s about a season, and a time, Created with a reason and a rhyme. Well alright. Well alright. Well alright
