Dead Religions |

I
know you are offended ‘cause I don’t want your religion, But
you just don’t want to know the reasons why. And
you are indignant that I don’t need your religion, Though
I spent many years making the try. You
are very angry that I don’t accept your judgment ‘cause
I live in a land where I was born to be free. Your
heart is full of hatred ‘cause I won’t uphold your law. What
fool clings to blindness once he’s been allowed to see? Your
words curse and condemn me, Your
hands form bars and cages. Your
world is ever further from the truth Then
it has been for ages. So
don’t hand me no worn out mysteries, Don’t
give me your guilt and fear. Don’t
preach your dead religions. Would
you please get out of here? I
know you want the details to justify my decision Though
what point there is to that it is impossible to say. You
want documentation compiled with such precision Though
even all of historys’ record’s not enough to make you sway Your
eyes are full of pain as you put the pain on me, I
hear a musical echo askin’ “When will we be free?” And
there you still stand pushin’ fear and glory, Though
everyone knows that’s not the way it’s supposed to be. You
can go on acting like you never read the story, But
it won’t do you no good when it comes time to leave. Your
words curse and condemn me, Your
hands form bars and cages. Your
world is ever further from the truth Then
it has been for ages. So
don’t hand me no worn out mysteries, Don’t
give me your guilt and fear. Don’t
preach your dead religions. Would
you please get out of here?
