Garden and Seed

by Lynn Hubbard

The mind is like a garden

A thought is like a seed

And when good seed is planted

The fruit tastes fine, indeed

But when bad seed is sown there

The garden looks like hell

The weeds that take it over

Make roses hard to smell

So when the garden’s ailing

There’s just one thing to do…

Pull all those worthless weeds out

And faith will see it through

The garden plot is weed free

Things look much better now

All bloom with understanding

Cause truth makes a good plow
